Women live one third of their lives in a post-menopausal state. And nearly all post-menopausal women will get osteoporosis. That’s why 50 million women in America are at risk for osteoporosis.
If you’re a Black American woman those stats are even worse. Between 80 and 95 percent of fractures in Black American women over 64 are due to osteoporosis and Black American women are twice as likely as White American women to die following a hip fracture.
Put another way, the overall impact of osteoporosis on women’s health is four times that of breast cancer.
What contributes to osteoporosis? Something as simple as salt.
Doctor Neravetla addressed that connection at the Global Healthcare Summit in India and discusses the fact that while salt is a mighty strong habit for a lot of us, it’s definitely not an addiction.
